Our client, a leader in the Telco Industry is seeking to fill the position of Sales/Business Development Director of Payment Service Bank.

This person will be responsible for ensuring consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, and management of the account managers in order to achieve its target market share and set goals.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and management and will be responsible for retaining current customers as well as developing and attracting new customers. This person will be responsible for learning and keeping abreast of new technologies, recommending/sharing changes and trends seen in the field and meeting sales goals in targeted markets.

This function will enable the company to be recognized as a leading global telco provider in the telecom industry; known for making work smarter and lives better.

  • Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, counselling, skills development and product/solution’s knowledge development.
  • Researches customers’ needs and resolves problems
  • Visits customers and potential customers to develop relationships, follow up on leads, set grower trials, close sales opportunities and provide technical information
  • Meets established sales budget (revenue, profit, expense) goals
  • Achieve key metrics (customer visits per weeks, prospect visits per week, trials conducted).
  • Gives technical support in person, by email and phone
  • Delivers sales presentations and closes sales in a professional manner
  • Inputs customer activities, competitive intelligence and industry information daily.
  • Follows-up in a timely manner to requests from management and other internal and external customers.
  • Brainstorming with the business development team to create new project strategies
  • Identifying sales and services that would appeal to new clients
  • Managing company and client expectations
  • Reviewing timeframes and budgets
  • Creating sales pitches, executing sales objectives and managing client accounts
  • Finding and following new sales leads
  • Arranging business meetings and one-on-one conversations with prospective clients

Educational/ Experience Requirements

A minimum of 15 years sales experience, of which 5 years are at managerial level in active capacity.

Minimum of first degree in any related field.

An MBA degree or its equivalent is an added advantage -up in a timely manner to requests from management and other internal and external customers.

Ideal candidate could be either Head, Sales & Business Development or GM, Sales & Business Development from either FMCG, Banking industry, Fintech or a Digital Payment Service Bank. Nomenclatures such as Sales & Business Development Director or similar applies.
